Radio Frequency Site Surveys: Ensure Optimal Coverage, Minimal Interference

- RF Assets: Audit & Recommendation
Establishing a wireless network can be tricky. You want to be sure you have enough coverage to eliminate dead spots, but you don’t want excess coverage that can create interference.
The ultimate goal of an RF site survey is to ensure adequate coverage throughout the facility. The site survey supplies the information required to determine the number and placement of access points. Additionally, a Ryzex RF site survey detects the presence of interference coming from other sources that could degrade the performance of the wireless LAN.
How we work:
- Our RF engineer goes on site and tests various access point locations by measuring signal strength, signal quality, noise levels and other parameters.
- We find the “edges” of each access point cell and create a map that ensures complete coverage with appropriate overlap.
- With a spectrum analyzer, we walk through your site to locate and identify sources of RF interference including cordless phones, microwave ovens, heavy machinery, welders, rogue access points, Bluetooth devices and more.

We don’t fill in a few fields and call it a day. Our reports take an average of four to six hours to create and are packed with the information you need to succeed, including:
- Pre-installation requirements
- Installation instructions and details
- Power requirements
- Spectrum analysis results
- Reference materials
- Detailed specification sheets for each access point that indicate:
- Location
- Orientation
- Channel settings
- Measured signal to noise ratio
- Measured data rates
- Comprehensive instructions for the installer
