These initiatives include:

• Local Firm Raises £2,000 for S.N.A.P., ongoing commitment to supporting the local community.
• American Red Cross Blood Drives, supporting their efforts in disaster and emergency relief.
• Angel Giving Tree, a Salvation Army program that gives toys and clothing to children in need.
• Bellingham Music Festival, providing the Bellingham Area with the live music at the highest artistic levels by prominent national and international musicians.
• Bellingham Sea to Ski Race, an historic relay from Mt. Baker to Bellingham Bay that showcases the recreational opportunities in Whatcom County.
• Big Brothers/Big Sisters, the highly-regarded mentoring program that works one-on-one with children to build brighter futures and stronger communities.
• Bike to Work Day to promote and encourage a healthy and more environmentally-friendly way of commuting.
• Boys and Girls Club of Greater Washington, helping children of all backgrounds become productive, civic-minded, responsible adults.
• Brigid Collins Family Support Center, helping to break the cycle of child abuse and encourage the development of healthy families.
• DSHS Foster Parent Appreciation Dinner to support the good work of those who care for children through the Department of Social and Health Services.
• Global Partnerships, a micro lending program fighting poverty around the world by helping the poor help themselves.
• Great Northwest Swap -- outdoor enthusiasts trade recreational equipment, the Whatcom Boys and Girls Club gets 25% of the proceeds.
• Jingle Bell Run for the Arthritis Foundation, supporting the mission of preventing, controlling and curing arthritis and related diseases.
• Mount Baker Theatre, a home for arts, entertainment and social interaction in a historic venue.
• Nooksack Salmon Enhancement Association (NSEA), a community-based nonprofit organization restoring wild salmon runs in Whatcom County.
• Northwest Discovery Project – Sand in the City, a benefit for the free, hands-on Marine Life Center.
• Seattle Children’s Hospital, ranked one of the best children’s hospitals in the United States by U.S. News & World Report and Child Magazines.
• Special Olympics, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing sports training and competition to help improve the lives of people with intellectual disabilities.
• Summit Assistance Dogs, providing highly-skilled mobility, hearing and therapy dogs for people with disabilities.
• Sustainable Connections, a business network promoting healthy environments and strong communities.
• Whatcom Business Person of the Year, recognizing local business professional who contribute their time, talent, money and expertise to the economic and civic advantage of our communities.
• Whatcom Family YMCA, serving more than 14,000 kids and their families through sports, child-care and more.
